United Shipbuilding Corporation starts changing its management system
USC shipyards hand over the functions of sole executive bodies to the managing company
United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) has started changing its management system, according to the comment of USC on new appointments at Vyborg Shipyard (a company of USC).
“In order to make the key assets of USC more manageable, corporate events have been initiated, including the transfer of the functions of sole executive bodies to the managing company. Vyborg Shipyard is the first company of USC to start changing its management system. Aleksey Rakhmanov will still hold the position of General Director of USC as the managing company,” says the statemen of USC press center.
According to earlier statements, the Board of Directors of PAO Vyborg Shipyard had elected Aleksey Rakhmanov as Acting General Director of Vyborg Shipyard from 10 January 2023. The authority of Aleksandr Solovyov who had held the position of Vyborg Shipyard General Director since June 2012 was terminated prematurely from 9 January 2023.
United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC OJSC) is the largest shipbuilding company in Russia. It was set up in 2007 with 100% federal ownership. The holding comprises about 40 companies and organizations (major shipbuilding and shiprepairing companies as well as leading design bureaus). Currently, USC consolidates about 80% of the domestic shipbuilding complex. The Russian market is the main focus of the state corporation though it also exports its products to 20 countries worldwide.
