USC head Aleksey Rakhmanov elected as Acting General Director of Vyborg Shipyard
Aleksandr Solovyov who had held the position for over a decade stepped down on January 9
The Board of Directors of PAO Vyborg Shipyard has elected Aleksey Rakhmanov as Acting General Director of Vyborg Shipyard from 10 January 2023, according to the publication of the Center for Disclosure of Corporate Information. USC head will hold the position until Vyborg Shipyard BOD elects General Director of the company.
The authority of Aleksandr Solovyov who had held the position of Vyborg Shipyard General Director since June 2012 was terminated prematurely from 9 January 2023 in accordance with cl.2, Article 278 of RF Labor Code.
Aleksey Rakhmanov was born on July 18, 1964 in Nizhny Novgorod.
In 1986, he graduated from Nizhny Novgorod Polytechnic Institute with specialization in Mechanical Engineering; in 2003 – from the School of Business, University of Chicago, as Master of Business Administration. Aleksey Rakhmanow used to hold various positions in state and private companies. In 1996, he joined international audit and consulting company "Ernst & Young" where he worked until 2002. Between 2002 and 2008 - Director for Strategy and Business, Severstal-Avto OJSC.
In July 2008, Aleksey Rakhmanov was appointed as Director of the Department of Automotive Industry and Agricultural Machinery at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, in March 2012 – Deputy Ministrer of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
From June 2014 – General Director of United Shipbuilding Corporation JSC.
Vyborg Shipyard is one of the largest shipbuilding companies of the North-Western Region of Russia. Since its foundation in 1948 the shipyard has built 210 different vessels, 9 offshore drilling rigs and 105 topside modules for fixed offshore platforms with total displacement of over 1.55 million tonnes. Vyborg Shipyard is also building eight fishing trawlers of Projects КМТ01 and КМТ02 under the state programme on providing quotas in return for investments in shipbuilding (for North West Fishing Consortium and for Nord Piligrim). In 2020, Vyborg Shipyard was awarded with the first military order ‒ patrol icebreaker for FSB (its delivery is scheduled for 2024).
