EEC postponed consideration of amendments into Technical Regulation of the Customs Union in the part of sulphur content in bunker
The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission that was going to consider introduction of amendments into Technical Regulation of the Customs Union in the part of sulphur content in bunker at its meeting on 18 November 2019 but the issue was postponed sine die. As the press center of EEC commented for IAA PortNews, the Council “didn’t have time” to consider the issue at the recent meeting. The next one is to take place in the first decade of December 2019. However, there is no information about the agenda yet.
According to the Technical Regulation of the Customs Union, commercial distribution of fuel with sulphur content of more than 0.50% will be prohibited in the Customs Union from 1 January 2020 to comply with the requirements of the International Maritime Organization covering international waters beyond special emission control areas.
