Russian Govt sets up fisheries commission to develop the sector
Russian Government on December 25 2015 approved a decree (№1431) and regulations annex establishing a commission that will be tasked to develop the fisheries sector, the government press office said.
The commission is set up to ensure counteraction between federal and regional authorities developing, implementing a unified state policy in fisheries and fish farming. The order was drafted by the Ministry of Agriculture.
The Commission, in particular, will accept draft regulations and programs aimed at the development of the sector; proposals for incentives to encourage fishery industry businesses; the development of the fish / aquatic products market; fisheries sector insurance, etc.
The Commission is formed on a representative basis. Chairman of the Commission will be Deputy Prime Minister of Russia and the membership is to be approved by the Russian government.
The document was reviewed and approved at a meeting of the Government of the Russian Federation on 24 December 2015.
