Pilbara Ports Authority throughput up to 54.4 million tonnes in September 2015
Pilbara Ports Authority (PPA) has delivered a total monthly throughput of 54.4 million tonnes (Mt) for the month of September, the company said in its press release.
The Port of Port Hedland achieved a record monthly throughput of 39.9Mt, an increase of 8% from the same month in 2014. Iron ore exports for the month totalled 39.3Mt, an increase of 8% from the same month in 2014. Imports totalled 124,000 tonnes, a decrease of 112,000 tonnes or 48% from the previous year.
The Port of Dampier delivered a total monthly throughput of 14.4Mt, a decrease of 0.9Mt or 6% from the previous year. Imports totalled 117,000 tonnes, an increase of 26,000 tonnes or 29% from the same month in 2014.
