Russian aircraft-carrying cruiser holds exercises in the Mediterranean Sea
The pilots of the aircraft wing stationed aboard the heavy aircraft-carrying missile cruiser Admiral Kuznetsov of Russia’s Northern Fleet have commenced air combat exercises and practicing interception of fast-moving targets over the water area of the Mediterranean Sea as an element of joint task force operations, says the press center of the Western Military District.
The pilots of the seaborne fighter jets Su-33 will practice tactical and navigation skills as well as formation flying.
All in all, North Fleet pilots have made over 140 flights with the total duration of about 110 hours during the long-distance voyage of the naval unit.
