Beginning of icebreaking assistance at port Primorsk to be announced from January 28
From January 28, 2014, the beginning of icebreaking assistance will be announced at port Primorsk, says Administration of Big Port St. Petersburg.
Small-size vessels will be prohibited from navigation and the following limitations will come into effect within the water area of port Primorsk and at the approaches to the port when ice is 10-15 cm thick: Vessels without ice reinforcement are allowed for ice navigation only with icebreakers’ support. Vessels with category of Ice 1 and above are allowed for navigation in ice-covered waters either independently or with icebreaking escort.
From February 5, limitations are to be introduced for navigation of vessels without ice class. Vessels with category of Ice 1 and above are allowed for navigation with icebreaking support or with icebreaker’s recommendations.
