The yard has so far delivered two ve ssels viz ICGS “Abheek: and “ICGS Aadesh. The first vessel was com missioned on 13 th December 2013 and the second on 31 December 2013. Like its sister ships, “ ABH INAV” also can move very fast at a speed of 33 knot s and will be very effective in supporting the Indian Coast Guard in its anti smuggling, anti piracy operations and fisheries protection and monitoring.
Since speed of the vessel will be very crucial in coastal security operations, the superstructure of these ships are made of aluminum. A considerable amount of innovation in welding and fabrication tec hniques were undertaken by CSL to achieve a very high quality product. It is heartening that the hig h skilled workforce of the yard has achieved weight control on this ship right through the build proces s and the difference between the design weight and actual weight was only about 2 tonnes ie a differe nce of less than 01%. 3. The ship is propelled by water jets and powered by three Main Engines, each of capacity-2720 KW and built to the dual classicfication requiremen ts of ABS and IRS. 4.
Apart from the 20 Fast Patrol Vessels for the In dian Coast Guard, the yard is also constructing the most prestigious warship of the nation, the Ind igenous Aircraft Carrier , 2 Offshore Support Vesse ls for international owners and one Buoy Tender Vesse l for Directorate of Light Houses and Light Ships.
