USC’s orders book reaches $ 11 billion
The portfolio of orders of United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) is currently $ 11 billion, the Corporation’s head said Wednesday.
President of USC Roman Trotsenko, who attends the International Maritime Defense Show (IMDS-2011) in St. Petersburg, told reporters the corporation expects annual revenue of $ 5 billion.
Overall, the Corp’s portfolio of newbuildings includes 54 warships, 40 of them were ordered for the Russian Navy, the rest - by foreign customers. 17 vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2011.
On July 12, USC’s Yantar Shipyard will hold keel-laying of a frigate for the Russian Navy. Besides, two submarines (№ 201, № 202) are scheduled for delivery this year, Mr. Trotsenko said.
Baltiysk-based Shipyard Yantar was founded in July 8,1945 on the basis of Koenigsberg F. Schichau shipyard. The company specializes in construction and ship repair of small and medium vessels for military and civil purposes. Throughout the years the Shipyard has built 154 warships and more than 500 merchant vessels. Currently, the major stakeholder of Baltiysk Shipyard Yantar is the state-owned Western Center of Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of United Shipbuilding Corporation.
United Shipbuilding Corporation, founded in 2007, incorporates three regional shipbuilding centers: JSC Western Shipbuilding Center (St. Petersburg), JSC Northern Center of Shipbuilding and Ship Repair (Severodvinsk), JSC Far Eastern Center of Shipbuilding and Ship Repair (Vladivostok), as well as leading marine design offices. United Shipbuilding Corporation also has a 50% stake in Arctech Helsinki Shipyard, a joint venture with STX Finland Cruise Oy.
