DP World commences upgrade of Al Hamriya Port in Dubai
DP World has commenced an upgrade of its Al Hamriya Port in Dubai, in a modernisation plan that will extend over a period of 18 to 24 months, the port operator said on Tuesday.
Under the plan, Al Hamriya Port will have extended wharves to accommodate larger feeder vessels as well an upgraded fisherman's wharf and a workers' hostel, a statement from the company said.
The port facilitates non-containerised cargo movements between Dubai and other countries in the Gulf, South Asia and East Africa and serves the local fishing industry.
