Vladivostok port is included in PIL’s service
Pacific International Lines Ltd. (PIL) has started weekly calls at Commercial Sea Port of Vladivostok (CPV), The press service of the stevedoring company.
CPV was included in the port rotation PIL’s North Asian service, which connects several major ports in Taiwan, China, Korea and Japan. The line is served by three sisterships Kota Dahlia, Kota Dunia, Kota Darjah, each with capacity of 628 TEUs. The line’s boxships will be handled at berths number 9 and number 10 of CPV.
In addition to regular delivery of goods from Korea and China, the service may include direct shipment of containers from ports in Taiwan and Japan to Vladivostok, bypassing the ports of transshipment.
Thus, the transit time of container from Japan is 1,5 days. The service launch will also attract additional volume of exported containerized cargo carried to South-East Asia.
According to CCO of Vladivostok port Dmitry Domrachev, the CPV has been in talks with global shipping companies to significantly increase the lines’ services at the port.
Commercial Seaport of Vladivostok OJSC, part of FESCO Transport Group, owns and operates its assets at the port of Vladivostok, one of the largest Russian seaports in the Far East. Port of Vladivostok encompasses 55 ha, over 14 km of waterfront with 17 berths, including terminals for handling grain, containers, imported cars and a passenger terminal. In 2010, CPV’s cargo throughput rose year-over-year by 11% to 6,9 million tons.
