Port of Temryuk’s throughput grows 28.59% to 966,100 tons
Cargo volume handled at the port of Temryuk in January-May 2011 increased by 28.59% compared with the same period of 2010, to 966.1 thousand tons, the Port Authority said.
In the reporting period exports rose by 29% to 856,000 tons, imports surged by 4.5 times to 50,590 tons, while short sea traffic volume was down 19,2% to 59,510 tons.
The port handled 370 vessels, 30% more than a year earlier.
Port of Temryuk is located on the Taman seashore of the Azov Sea. The port has 1,2km-long waterfront. The port of Temryuk handles primarily general cargoes, round timber, lumber, metal. In 2010, Temryuk port’s cargo throughput declined by 7.4% to 1,95 million tons.
