USC to take part in construction of two SCF’s LNG carriers
United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) will participate in the construction of the fourth and fifth LNG tankers for Sovcomflot under the time-charter agreement of SCF Group and Gazprom Global LNG (GGLNG), a subsidiary of Gazprom, SCF”s President Sergey Frank said. The first tankers will be built by South Korean partner of USC – STX Offshore & Shipbuilding.
The agreement between SCF Group and GGLNG was signed on Friday in the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The long-term time charter provides for a minimum of 15 years’ employment for both vessels each of nearly 170,000 cubic meters cargo capacity, SCF said.
