The state still dominates in Russia’s economy, Russian President says
State regulation of economy in Russia is still excessive, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said speaking at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
According to Dmitry Medvedev, at some stages the government interference was necessary, but now the task is to ensure the dominance of private enterprises and private investment.
"The state should protect the property and the choice of those who risk their money and reputation. It should give them as well a right to be wrong, as a chance for a drive, for development. Moreover, it (the Govt) should provide through public companies a modern and stable infrastructure for the economy development as a whole ", D. Medvedev was quoted as saying.
