Russian bunker suppliers may fall short of EuroAsEC requirements
Bunkering companies of Russia may be unprepared for the requirements of the Technical Regulations of the Eurasian Economic Community (EuroAsEC), which should come into force on 1 January 2011, an analyst says.
Edward Mokhnatkin, the head the Analytical Center for Environmental Standards and Tests of Fuel in his report prepared for the IV Russian Forum of Bunker Suppliers, suggests that the companies engaged in bunkering business undertake in advance measures for the development and registration of their products safety data sheet. This must be done in order to avoid unpleasant surprises during their operation early next year, including those from the supervising authorities, the expert said.
The technical regulations of EuroAsEC prescribe for each manufacturer the presence of PSDS, as a mandatory document.
"It's very important for manufacturers to take into account that it (safety certificate) should be completed before the product is put on the market," the expert believes.
These and other issues will be discussed at the IV Russian Forum of Bunker Suppliers.
