Panama Canal named best Central American company
Panama Canal Authority (ACP) heads for the third year in a row the Honors Board Leader Companies of Central America and the Dominican Republic of magazines Summa, Fortune and the consulting Hay Group, Insidecostarica reports.
These institutions analyze since 1997 the management practices of the companies in the region in areas such as Finance, Operations, Products and Services, Human Resources, Image, Social Responsibility and Customer Service.
In its 2011 edition, the list includes corporations of Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama and the Dominican Republic, according to a report of ACP.
It explains that on a scale from 1 to 10, the ACP obtained 9.27 points, Taca (El Salvador), 9.17; Walmart Central America (regional), 9.11, Copa Airlines (Panama), 9.1; Colgate Palmolive (regional), 8.95 , and Grupo Leon Jimenes, 8.94.
The CanalâÖs administrator Alberto Aleman Zubieta, said the award reflects the capacity and professionalism of ACP staff, without which success would not be possible.
