Port Vysotsky coal throughput soars 48.3% to over 1,3m tons
Export coal volume handled by Port of Vysotsky LLC in January-May, 2011 surged by 48.3% compared to 5 months of 2010 to 1,334,595.6 tons, the stevedore company’s press office said. In May, Port Vysotsky handled 265,373.4 tons.
Port of Vysotsky LLC specializes in handling Russian coal exports to Western Europe. The port can accommodate vessels with draft up to 11,9 m, and is able to handle simultaneously two 45,000DWT bulk carriers, or three vessels with deadweight of 25,000 tons. In 2010, Port of Vystosky coal throughput totaled 2.3 million tons, versus 2,9 million tons a year earlier.
