Chinese Fuzhou port container cargo can start moving via Estonia
Representatives of the state-owned port operator AS Tallinna Sadam, Alekon Cargo and Eesti Raudtee who are visiting Asia met this week in Fuzhou with the representatives of the local office of the Chinese state-owned transport and logistics company Sinotrans, LETA/Postimees Online reports. They discussed channelling the cargo flows exiting from the Fuzhou port via Estonia.
Alekon Cargo manager Erkki Veismann said that the meeting gave confirmation to existing agreements according to which Alekon received rights to be the agent for Sinotrans cargo in the Baltic Sea region.
Veismann estimated that there is hope that in the near future real results will be reached so that containers exiting the Fuzhou port and expedited by Sinotrans will move via Estonia.
