Net profit of Sovcomflot up 40% in 9M06
Consolidated profit of Sovcomflot and its subsidiaries grew over 9 months of 2006 by 40% to over $124 million, Igor Borisenko, first deputy to Director General of Sovcomflot OJSC has reported today at the press conference in Saint Petersburg, according to the PortNews reporter. Borisenko says the company’s profit may amount to about $0.5 billion in 2006.
Sovcomflot OJSC is the largest Russian shipping company with unique experience in operating ice class vessels under ice conditions, including that of the Baltic and White Seas. In late 2005 the company took ice class Aframax vessels – the Yury Senkevich and the Victor Konetsky tankers for oil transportation under Sakhalin-1 project. The company plans to increase transportation from Russian ice regions to 30% of the company’s total transport services.
