The Tavricheski Bridge tanker to be delivered on October 30
The acceptance of the Tavricheski Bridge tanker built by Admiralty Shipyards FSUE for Sovcomflot OJSC is to take place on October 30, the shipyard’s press release reads.
The Tavricheski Bridge tanker is the sixth vessel in the series of product carriers ordered by Sovcomflot OJSC to Admiralty Shipyards FSUE. All the vessels of the series are called as famous bridges the names of which begin from latin letter “T”.
The vessel is built to conform double classification of Russian Maritime Registry of Shipping and Lloyd Register, including ice class ЛУ 6 (1А Super according to international classification). The vessel is equipped with two Azipod-type steerable propellers (360-degree turning electric propeller-rudder system), dynamic positioning system, helicopter spot and Arctic version prow cargo reception system.
Admiralty Shipyards FSUE is the oldest Russia’s shipyard founded by Peter I on November 5, 1704. Modern Shipyards specialize in design, production and modernization of civil and naval vessels of various types. Over 2.6 thou ships and vessels have been built by the companies forming Admiralty Shipyards during three centuries of their existence.
Sovcomflot and Admiralty Shipyards have long ago established mutually-beneficial cooperation. In March 2006 Sovcomflot and Admiralty Shipyards signed the contracts for the seventh and the eighth product tankers of the same series once ordered by Sovcomflot to Admiralty Shipyards.
