SOCAR to ship 400.000 tons of Ural via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline in November 2006
The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) plans to ship 400,000 tons of Ural via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline in November 2006, Trend agency reports. Azerbaijani International Operating Company (AIOC) plans to load 150,000 tons of oil, while the SOCAR – 250,000 tons of crude oil.
SOCAR has concluded pumping the oil cargo ordered in October. The company shipped 80,000 tons of oil from Pier N2 of the port. The SOCAR will ship 1,204 million barrels of oil to REBCO.
In November the SOCAR will ship 2 oil cargos comprising 584,000 barrels, or 80,000 tons on November 7-8, while the second, 620,000 barrels, or 85,000 ton, will be unloaded on November18-19. A British trader Glencore Energy won the tender.
AIOC is involved in the production of Azeri Light from ACG and exports crude via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, Baku-Supsa and Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline and by rail to the Georgian port of Batumi.
The SOCAR produces and exports oil from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields on equal rights with the AIOC and also lifts crude in other onshore and offshore fields at own expense. During 2005, SOCAR shipped 1.631mln ton of oil from port Novorossiysk against 2.559mln ton in 2004.
