Kuehne + Nagel wins seafreight forwarder award
For the third time since 2003, Kuehne + Nagel has been named Seafreight Forwarder of the Year by FTB Asia, Lloyd's freight transport buyer magazine.
Kuehne + Nagel, with 42,000 employees and 750 branches worldwide, was judged on customer service, relationships with carriers, flexibility of services, value for money, network size, range of value-added services and the introduction and upgrading of new products and services.
In the last year, Kuehne + Nagel's Asia Pacific organisation achieved double-digit volume growth in all trade lanes.
A company statement claimed that what differentiates Kuehne + Nagel from its rivals is visibility and ease of access to customer information derived from its software applications such as the firm's global tracking andexpanded order and supplier management system.
"We are honoured to receive the top-level industry award, which recognises the superior value proposition that Kuehne + Nagel provides. It is a clear indication of customers' confidence," said Asia Pacific managing director Andy Weber.
The annual event recognises companies for outstanding service in providing supply chain solutions. Winners are chosen by readers of FTB Asia, who are then asked to submit written submissions on why they felt they should win. A panel of 15 independent judges from Asia, Europe and the US eventually selects the winner.
