Cargo transportation in Odessa region down 2.7% in Jan.-Sept.
Cargo transportation of Odessa region (Ukraine) amounted in January-September 2006 to 26 million 982 thou tons (-2.7% against year-on-year result), regional administration reports according to RBC-Ukraine. Railway transportation of cargo fell by 2.3% to 17 million 762 thou tons, water – by 9.9% - to 4 million 990 thou tons, while motor transportation grew by 5.2% to 4 million 230 thou tons. Odessa region is crossed by two International Transport Corridors including the only waterway - Danube. The share of commercial seaports of Odessa region makes 80% of total cargo transportation by all commercial sea harbors of Ukraine.
