BALtrans launches integrated operational platform in China
BALtrans has completed the integration of its two key entities in China into a single unified logistics platform, which formally began operations on October 16, 2006.
The new service platform operates under the trade name of “BALtrans Logistics Company Ltd”. BALtrans Logistics Co Ltd is headquartered in Shanghai, the major transportation hub of Eastern and Northern China. It will eliminate duplication of resources, provide focus for future IT investments as well as improve efficiency and risk management of the company’s present logistics network, which covers most of the major cities along the bustling coastal regions of China.
Peter Chu, managing director of the PRC region, will lead BALtrans Logistics Co Ltd.
“The integration will take the company another step closer to becoming a global freight forwarding and logistics service provider with a strong platform in China, in particular, said BALtrans chief executive Henrik von Sydow, adding that BALtrans Logistics Co Ltd is one of the few multi-national corporations with all the necessary air and ocean licences in all major PRC cities.
