Oktyabrskaya Railway freight transportation up 0.8% in 9M06
Oktyabrskaya Railway transported 79.8 million tons of cargo through 9 months of 2006 RZD press center reports. Average daily dispatch was 293.1 thou tons of cargo (+0.7 thou tons against year-on-year result). Volume of high-cost cargo (class 3) loaded at Oktyabrskaya Railway through January-September grew by 0.8% against year-on-year result – mostly owing to container volumes increase (+2.9%) and ferrous metal (+17.5%). In September loading of cargo was fulfilled to 102% against forecast. Average daily loading amounted in September to 306.1 thou tons against planned 300 thou (+4.9% against year-on-year result). Growth of oil cargo volumes was 16.2%, ferrous metals – 24.5 %, timber – 15.4 %, and construction cargo – 6.5 %, non-ferrous ore 66.9 % against year-on-year result). Cargo turnover plan was fulfilled to 102.4 %. Unloading result was 347 wagons more than in September 2005.
