Keel-laying of a new vessel at Blagoveshchensk Shipyard
Keel-laying of a new vessel has been started today at Blagoveshchensk Shipyard (Amur region), AmurPolit.ru reports. On October 20, 2005 the shipyard participated in the tender for supply of military equipment for Russian Navy and it signed an order for construction of a large hydrographic vessel for the Pacific Fleet. It is to be a unique hydrographic vessel designed for both hydrographical/sounding survey and servicing of navigational facilities. Leonid Korotkov, Governor of Amur region participated in keel-laying. According to him, the Ministry of Defense has not calculated full investments necessary for vessel construction in 2007, so the company is to take a credit in order to acquire the equipment. We are going to consider the shipyard's request for subsidizing of the credit interest rate, the Governor said.
