Container turnover of Ukrainian ports up 29.5% in 8M06
According to data provided by Ukrmorrechflot (State Department of Sea and River Transport of Ukraine), growth rates of container turnover at the Ukrainian ports grew through eight month of 2006 by +29.5% (year-on-year) to 446.705 thou TEU, RZD-Partner reports. Thus, container turnover grew by 101.7 thou TEU. Container turnover growth of the similar period in 2005 amounted to 117 thou TEU (+41%). The majority of container turnover volume falls on import and export in almost equal shares - 0.22 million TEU each. The share of transit is still not very high – about 1.1% of total container turnover (4.984 thou TEU).
