Russian Railways IAS net profit rises 49% in 2005
Russia's railroad monopoly, Russian Railways (RZD), said Monday its net profit, calculated to International Accounting Standards (IAS), rose 49%, year-on-year, in 2005, to 114.41 billion rubles (about $4 billion).
The company's revenues grew 14.9% in the reporting year, to 749.25 billion rubles (about $26.2 billion), including 584.72 billion rubles of revenues (about $20.4 billion) from freight carriage, and 94.58 billion rubles (about $3.3 billion) from passenger traffic, RZD said.
Pre-tax profit increased 47.4% in the reporting year, to 138.11 billion rubles (about $4.8 billion), RZD said.
