Hamburg Sud to make Trident upgrade
HAMBURG SUD said it would upgrade its year-old Trident fleet serving the Australia/New Zealand, North American and European markets with a fixed-day fortnightly service with ships averaging 2,000 TEU in size.
The company said it would insert the 2,524-TEU Cap Melville, which possesses 481 reefer plugs, to join the rotation on or about October 24 at Savannah.
Hamburg Sud's North America senior vice president, Juergen Pump, said the growth in service capacity reflects shipper support for the company's stand-alone service, its reliability and schedule integrity, and its direct service to Europe.
The rotation includes Tilbury, Bremerhaven, Antwerp, Philadelphia, Savannah, Cartagena, Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne, Timaru, Napier, Tauranga, Cartagena, Savannah, Philadelphia and back to Tilbury.
