RZhD OJSC loaded over 3.6 billion tons of cargo in 3 years
RZhD OJSC loaded over 3.6 billion tons of cargo in 3 years, RZhD’s press service reports. According to the report, from October 2003 till August 2006 the company carried 808.3 million tons of coal, 631.1 million tons of oil cargo, 566 million tons of construction cargo, 297.2 million tons of iron ore, 214.1 million tons of ferrous metal, 181.7 million tons of timber. Cargo turnover amounted over the reported period to 5 trillion 367.2 billion tons-km. Over the third year (from October 20045 till August 2006) RZhD OJSC transported over 1 billion tons of cargo (+44.7 million tons or +3.9% against year-on-year result). Cargo loading grew over this period by 3.9% for 1-class cargo (+27.4 million tons), by 3.1% for 2-class cargo (+9.1 million tons) and by 5.4% for class cargo (+8.3 million tons). The largest growth was demonstrated by the sector of oil cargo: 10.6 million tons (+5.4%), coal: 10.3 million tons (4.1%), iron ore: 7.1 million tons (7.8%), ferrous metal: 5.9 million tons (9%), cement: 3.2 million tons (10.7%), construction cargo: 2.4 million tons (1.3%), timber: 2.3 million tons (4%), industrial materials: 2.1 million tons (7.2%). From October 2005 till August 2006 cargo turnover amounted to 1 trillion 760 billion tons-km (+84.3 billion tons-km or +5% against year-on-year result).
