Ukrzaliznitsa transported 38.6 thou of high-capacity containers through 8M06
Trough 8 months 2006 Ukrzaliznitsa transported 38.6 thou of high-capacity containers, Ukrzaliznitsa’s press service reports according to RBC-Ukraine. It is 2.3 times more than through similar period of the previous year. Considering increased volume of container transportation the meeting of Ukrainian and Polish railway representatives came to a decision to form four train-pairs every week. They are to run Warsaw-Prague-Iljichevsk-Warsaw-Prague and Warsaw-Prague-Zaporozhye-Warsaw-Prague lines. The fifth pair of cargo trains is to be formed, if necessary, Ukrzaliznitsa reported. Each cargo train will comprise 30 cargo wagons with containers. Cargo volumes of the above directions require forming of 110 pairs of cargo trains every month through the fourth quarter of 2006.
