Cargo turnover of Odessa region ports down 1.6% in January-August
Odessa region’s trade and fishing ports as well as its industrial berths handled 55.7 million tons of cargo in January-August 2006 (-1.6% against year-on-year result), region’s administration reports according to RBC-Ukraine. Export transportation fell by 6.8% to 25.9 million tons, import – by 11.9% to 4.8 million tons, transit transportation amounted to 24.7 (+на 1.8%). Cargo turnover of Odessa port grew by 0.4% to 18.9 million tons, Yuzhny – by 5.7% to 14.2 million tons, Illichevsk – by 3.5% to 10 million tons, Renijsky - -18.8% to 1.6 million tons. In 2005 sea trade ports of Odessa region increased cargo transshipment by 4.8% to 84.9 million tons that is 77.7% of total cargo turnover of all sea trade harbors of Ukraine.
