Ukrainian freight traffic volume up 8.4% through January-September
Cargo transportation of Ukrainian transport companies increased over 9 months of 2006 by 8.4% to 458.8 million tons, RBC-Ukraine reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Communications. Sea trade ports handled almost 84 million tons of cargo (+3.4 million tons or +4.2% against year-on-year result). Volume of transit cargo amounted to 31.9 million tons (+9.8% or 2.9 million tons against year-on-year result). 3.3 billion of passengers were transported over the reported period (+81.6 million persons or +2.5%).
