Cargo turnover of Azov-Don Basin ports decreased in January-September 2006 by 7.8% to 13.147 million tons (in 2005 – 14.258 million tons), yugmedia.ru reports. According to Azov-Don State Basin export grew by 22.8 % (from 851 thou tons to 1.045 million tons), coal – by 52.6% (from 103 thou tons to 157.6 thou tons), the Administration reported. Administration, export of oil products decreased through 9 months of the current year by 16.7% to 3.008 million tons (in 2005 – 3.612 million tons). The Administration explained the decrease by almost complete termination of crude oil export by water owing to exporters transfer to pipeline transportation of oil. In January-September 2006 volume of water transshipment of crude oil decreased by a factor of 27.3 to 14.241 thou tons (in 2005– 388.33 thou tons). Grain export decreased in 2006 by 20.9% to 2.765 thou tons (in 2005 – 3.496 thou tons). The Administration noted negative influence of Lebanon-Israel conflict on grain export. Export of metal scrap decreased by 13.2% (from 1.786 million tons) owing to decreased volume of delivery.
