Government financing of FEFD’s transport facilities to make 44.6 billion rubles in 2007-2010 – Alexander Misharin
Federal allocations for the development of transport facilities at the Far East Federal District (FEFD) to make 10.64 billion rubles in 2006 and 44.6 billion rubles in 2007 - 2010. According to the press service of the RF Transport Ministry, this information has been provided today at the Far East International Economic Forum by Alexander Misharin, deputy Minister of Transport.
According to Alexander Misharin, the documents of the Ministry of Transport determining the strategy for transport development within 15 years, pay much attention to the Far East region. Key strategic tasks, determined for transport development in the Far East region:
- finalization of basic railway system (improvement of Glavsib, finalization of BAM and AYM as well as linking lines ensuring maneuvering capability of the system). Development of maintenance-technological and economic conditions for attraction of foreign transit flow to Russia’s Railways (Transsib ITC, Primorie – 1, Primorie – 2);
- finalization of Berkakit-Tommot-Yakutsk railway line. Railway approach to Yakutsk and development of the region’s highway system is to radically change the view of northern transport systems;
- reconstruction of Sakhalin railways, modernization of Vanino-Kholmsk ferry service with commissioning of Lidoga-Vanino highway;
- development of transshipment facilities of basic ports – Vladivostok, Nakhodka, Vostochnyj, Vanino, Posieta, Zarubino.
- development of international border crossings and terminal facilities enabling improvement of technological handling and customs clearance, comfortable conditions for passengers.
