Container turnover of Odessa Sea Trade Port (Ukraine) grew in January-September 2006 by 37.8% to 279.4 thou TEU (+76.717 thou TEU), the ports administration reported, according to RZhD-Partner. The dynamics of the previous year was +44.9% (+62.798 thou TEU). Over the reported period the port registered 492 calls. In September the berths handled 38.901 thou TEU (+22.5% against previous month). August growth against July was +6.5%. September growth against year-on-year result is +38.8%. Transshipment through nine months amounted to 179.781 thou units (+37.6% against year-on-year result). The share of September amounted to 24.557 thou units (+14.2% of monthly growth). August growth against July was +5.8%. September growth against year-on-year result is +39.2%. Proportion of import and export of containers over 9 months is 55.9% against 44.1% (one year before it was 53% against 47%). Proportion of loaded and empty containers – 66.3% against 33.7% (one year before it was 67% against 33%). Sea export of empty containers - 75.4%, import – 0.4%. One year before it was 70.3% and 0.34%.
