Ports of Odessa region (Ukraine) handled 7.2 thou vessels in the first half of 2006
Sea ports of Odessa region (Ukraine) handled 7.2 thou vessels in the first half of 2006 (-6.8% against year-on-year result), Regional State Administration reports according to RBC-Ukraine. In particular, the ports handled 4.8 thou vessels under foreign flags (+1.8% against year-on-year result). According to Ukrainian Agency of Sea and River Fleet, total amount of vessels handled in Ukrainian ports decreased by 0.3% to 15.9 thou, including increased amount of foreign vessels (+8.5% or 8.4 thou). Servicing of vessels in 19 state sea trade ports decreased by 4.2% to 9.3 thou including increased amount of foreign vessels by 3.2% to 6.6 thou, in river ports – 7.3% growth to 4.1 thou and growth by a factor of 1.7 to 141 vessels correspondingly, in fishing ports – 16.7% decrease to 610 vessels, including increase of foreign vessels by 6% to 386 vessels. Private ports and industrial berths accepted in January-July of 2006 about 2 thou vessels, including 1.3 thou of foreign vessels (+11.5% and +42% against year-on-year result).
