Container turnover of Russia’s largest ports to reach 20.5 million TEU by 2020 – FESCO forecast
Container turnover of Russia’s largest ports will total 20.5 million TEU by 2020, FESCO’s head Evgeni Ambrosov told at international conference “TransRussia-2007” according to PortNews IAA reporter. Ambrosov says container turnover of the port of Saint Petersburg will grow to 11 million TEU by 2020 (1.59 million TEU – in 2006). Cargo turnover of Saint Petersburg terminals makes 50% in the share of RF cargo turnover. Novorossijsk is to handle 2.5 million TEU in 2020 (0.225 million TEU – in 2006). The share of Novorossijsk in RF cargo turnover makes 7%. The ports of Russia’s Far East will reach the result of 7 million TEU (in 2006 – 0.515 million TEU). Their share is 16%.
