Xiamen container volume up 20pc in January-February
The total container throughput of Xiamen port up 19.7 per cent year on year to 690,700 TEU in the first two months of this year, Logistics Week reported.
The container volume included 59,500 TEU containers from the Taiwan trade, which was up 13.4 per cent.
Xiamen port saw its cargo throughput increased by 20.3 per cent to 12.64 million tons from January to February, including a foreign trade cargo volume of 7.38 million tons that rose 19.5 per cent.
In February alone, Xiamen port handled 312,600 TEU, 5.74 million tons of cargo and 3.51 million tons of foreign trade cargo, up 36.2 per cent, 33.2 per cent and 32.6 per cent respectively.
