Oleg Mitvol, deputy head of the Federal Service for the Oversight of Natural Resources, says single-hull tankers should be prohibited from sailing in the Caspian Sea, Interfax reports according to Gazeta.Ru. “If such a vessel enters the Mediterranean Sea, its captain is to be imprisoned immediately, though in Russia it is not prohibited somehow an nobody worries about it,” Mitvol told a press conference in Moscow. According to Mitvol, ecological situation in the region of the Caspian Sea is the issue permanently considered by RosPrirodNadzor.
