Shanghai SIPG terminal's February TEU volume surges 43pc
Shanghai port operator Shanghai International Port (Group) Co. Ltd (SIPG) handled 1.8 million TEU, a record volume for February, surging 43.3 per cent year on year, Logistics Week reported.
The port operator also handled a record cargo volume of 25.5 million tons, an increase of 33.9 per cent year on year.
Foreign trade cargo of SIPG in February also reached record high at 16.8 million tons, up 44.1 per cent year on year, the report said.
In the first two months of the year, SIPG handled 3.85 million TEU, up 33.3 per cent year on year. Neighbouring, Yangshan Port contributed 801,000 TEU to the volume January and February, up 126 per cent year on year.
