Zim confirmes the order of two more 10,000-teu vessels at Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries in Korea
The yard said the vessels will cost a combined $269m for delivery by 24 February 2010. There is the option of a third ship, according to Zim, which is controlled by the Ofer family and said it was in talks for the vessels last month. Last June Zim placed a massive $1bn order for four 8,200-teu and four 10,000-teu ships. The vessels will be delivered by Hyundai Heavy Industries in the second half of 2009. The Israeli group currently operates around 100 containerships.
