Chengdu to become logistics hub by 2010
Authorities in Sichuan have unveiled ambitious plans to turn Chengdu into a major logistics hub in China by 2010.
The provincial government in Sichuan also plans to develop another two logistics hubs in the west and the northeast of the province in addition to Chengdu for an undisclosed sum, reports Xinhua.
To meet these objectives, the province's traffic infrastructure will undergo a major overhaul. Three land routes will be built to connect Sichuan to the northeast and northwest of China and southeast Asia.
