New PRISCO vessels are under construction
Construction of the vessels for Primorsk Shipping Corporation is going on.
Now, the specialists of Mitsui Engineering and Shipbuilding yard continue hull blocks assembling for a LNG carrier being built for MOL\ K-Line\ PRISCO consortium. 45 blocks have already been set. At the same time, shipyard’s workers carry out installation of various sections of cargo tanks, insulating and painting works, tests and trials at each stage of the construction. Hydraulic pressure test of engine room pipes has been successfully completed by now.
It is planed that the LNG carrier will come into operation in April 2008. This new vessel will transport liquid natural gas exports from LNG plant at Prigorodnoye, in accordance with a long-term time-charter agreement between the consortium and Sakhalin Energy, the operator of Sakhalin-2 project.
PRISCO crewmembers are now undergoing training for work on the LNG carrier at the company’s Training Center.
Construction of two largest PRISCO tankers, being built at Korean Hyundai Heavy Industries shipyard, goes within the set schedule. Last week aft part of the first suezmax was re-docked. When all necessary tests are completed this part of the tanker will be docked-in for the following construction of the vessel. The shop test of diesel generators for the second suezmax also has been successfully carried out.
