Kuehne+Nagel inaugurates new German HQ
Kuehne+Nagel has moved into its new German headquarters in Hamburg’s HafenCity. The move confirms the company’s commitment to Hamburg and underlines the significance of the location for the logistics group. In 2003, Kuehne+Nagel was one of the first companies to invest in HafenCity.
The new office building accommodates around 700 employees who were formerly spread across the city.
Since the founding of Kuehne+Nagel’s Hamburg branch in 1902 to provide freighting services on the River Elbe, Kuehne+Nagel today handles a considerable amount of its seafreight business via the Port of Hamburg.
In Altenwerder, adjacent to the container terminal, the company operates a logistics facility with 32,000 m2 of warehouse space.
Kuehne+Nagel’s next major project in Hamburg is already being piloted: In view of the strongly growing contract logistics and overland business, the company plans to construct a large warehouse and logistics facility for national and European groupage traffic.
