Norwegian ship and rig orders for NOK 220 bn
Norwegian and Norwegian controlled ship owning companies and drilling contractors have ships and rigs worth NOK 220 billion on order at the turn of the year, according to market sources quoted by the Norwegian financial daily Dagens Næringsliv. These numbers include Norwegian controlled companies registered abroad, such as entities controlled by John Fredriksen. Statistics from the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association (NSA), excluding those companies abroad, show to investment in 356 ships and 25 drilling rigs for a total of NOK 154 billion. Total investments are 60 per cent higher than a year earlier.
