Senator Lines launches new Europe-South America service
Just three months after reducing capacity as part of its Concept 2007, Senator Lines is expanding its current schedule of twelve regular services to include its new ESX Europe-South America service.
On March 20th, the CSCL Napoli will begin the first southbound departure on the ESX service in Rotterdam. The same vessel will start the first northbound voyage on April 8th in Buenos Aires.
A total of six 2,700 TEU container ships, in co-operation with K-Line, China Shipping, Hatsu Marine and Maruba, will link northern Europe with the east coast of South America, with weekly departures, on the following rotation:
Rotterdam > Hamburg > Antwerp > Santos > Buenos Aires > Montevideo > Rio Grande > São Francisco do Sul > Santos > Rotterdam.
According to Mark Ehlers, head of operational management, the ESX has two major plus points: it includes Montevideo as a direct port of call, and the port rotation enjoys improved transit times.
