Maersk announces new and improved Asia - Southern Africa service
Maersk Line announces new and improved Asia - Southern Africa network, which it will launch in April and May 2007.
The restructured Safari services will feature enhanced port coverage and transit time on direct services:
- One of the main features of revised Safari service is two weekly calls in Greater China with direct sailings to South Africa
- Increased capacity in key corridors
- Inclusion of a direct port of call at Ningbo, China on the Safari 1
- Faster vessels deployed resulting in market leading transit times
Safari 1:
Current rotation: Durban - Port Elizabeth - Cape Town - Port Louis - Tanjung Pelepas - Singapore - Hong Kong - Shanghai - Kaohsiung - Hong Kong - Yantian - Tanjung Pelepas - Port Louis - Durban
Revised rotation (as of 8 April 2007 with departure from Shanghai): Durban - Cape Town - Port Louis - Tanjung Pelepas - Yantian - Shanghai - Ningbo - Yantian - Tanjung Pelepas - Durban
Safari 2:
Current rotation: Port Elizabeth - Durban - Singapore - Tanjung Pelepas - Port Elizabeth
Revised rotation (as of 16 May with departure from Hong Kong): Port Elizabeth - Durban - Hong Kong - Tanjung Pelepas - Port Louis - Port Elizabeth.
