Norwegian shipyard order book at NOK 60 bn
Order books at Norwegian shipyards have reached an all time high at NOK 60 billion by early March after having reached NOK 57.3 billion by the end of January, according to statistics released by Norske Skipsverft in Bergen and Norsk Industri. The figure of NOK 60 million was reached when when Aker Oilfield Services ordered four combined well intervention/construction vessels at more than NOK 1.0 billion each. The vessels are likely to be built by Søviknes Verft. DOF Installer has also ordered two Anchor Handling Tug Supply/construction vessels at NOK 750 million each at Aker Aukra. Through January ships worth around NOK 2.5 billion were delivred. At the last yard boom in 2001 the order book peaked at NOK 33 billion.
