MABUX: Sharp irregular fluctuations to continue in Global bunker market on May 02
No firm trend in global bunker market expected today, bunker prices to change irregular

MABUX World Bunker Index (as index calculated on current prices for 380 HSFO, VLSFO and MGO in the main world hubs) continued to grow on April 29 - the third day in a row:
380 HSFO - USD/MT – 743.45 (+9.68)
VLSFO - USD/MT – 942.84 (+10.82)
MGO - USD/MT – 1 276.30 (+27.13)
Сorrelation of MABUX MBP Index (market bunker prices) vs MABUX DBP Index (MABUX digital bunker price benchmark) was mostly in the overcharge area on April 29 in selected ports. In particular, 380 HSFO fuel was overpriced in all ports: Rotterdam - plus $24 (plus $29 the day before), Singapore - plus $151 (plus $137), Fujairah - plus $92 (plus $87) and Houston - plus $ 92 (plus $110). MABUX MBP/DBP Index (MDI) for 380 HSFO fuel did not have a firm trend: in Rotterdam and Houston the overpricing decreased, in Singapore and Fujairah it rose.
In the VLSFO segment, MDI also recorded an overcharge on April 29 in all four selected ports. Rotterdam - plus $84 (plus $82 a day earlier), Singapore - plus $51 (plus $42), Fujairah - plus 58 (plus $57) and Houston - plus $54 (plus $67). Overcharge premium in the VLSFO segment had marginal changes.
In the MGO LS segment, the MDI index registered an underpricing of MGO LS on April 29 in two out of four ports selected: Singapore - minus $ 21 (versus minus $ 2 a day earlier) and Houston - minus $ 160 (minus $ 93). In two other ports: Rotterdam and Fujairah, the MDI index showed an overcharge of MGO LS by $114 (plus $76) and $78 (plus $68), respectively. The MDI index did not have a single trend. The most significant change was the increase of underpricing premium at the Port of Houston by 67 points.
We do not expect a firm trend in global bunker market today, bunker prices to change irregular: 380 HSFO - plus-minus 5-10 USD / MT, VLSFO - plus-minus 5-13 USD / MT, MGO LS - plus-minus 20-40 USD/MT.
